Areas of expertise

Two specialties, one surgeon

Dr. Khan treats both foot drop and peripheral neuropathy, two nerve conditions that often overlap.

01 · Foot Drop

What is foot drop?

  • Nerve rerouting
  • Nerve harvesting
  • Gait and mobility

Foot drop, also called drop foot, is difficulty lifting the front part of the foot, which makes walking and balance harder. It is not a disease itself but a symptom of an underlying problem such as nerve damage, a muscle disorder, or a neurological condition like stroke or multiple sclerosis.

People with foot drop often drag their toes or lift the knee higher than usual to clear the ground. Dr. Khan's nerve rerouting and nerve harvesting techniques are aimed at restoring motion and function, so daily activities feel possible again.

02 · Peripheral Neuropathy

What is peripheral neuropathy?

  • Diabetic nerve pain
  • Neuromodulation
  • Chronic pain relief

Peripheral neuropathy is damage to the nerves outside the brain and spinal cord, most often felt in the feet and legs as burning, numbness, tingling, or sharp pain. Diabetes is one of the most common causes.

Care here starts with identifying what is driving the nerve damage, then building a plan that can include neuromodulation therapy and surgical nerve procedures for patients whose pain has not responded to other treatments.
