Dr. Hershey was born in Texas and raised in Houston. He spent his middle and high school years in Brazil, where he graduated from Graded High School, a renowned international baccalaureate school in Sao Paulo. He attended the Honors College at Texas Tech University and graduated Summa Cum Laude while earning two bachelor's degrees with two minors.
While in college Dr. Hershey worked in three research internships at NASA’s Johnson Space Center including research on the effects of weightlessness on the body’s musculoskeletal and inner ear/balance system. Before entering medical school, he spent two years teaching English in Japan. Dr. Hershey returned to Houston to attend Baylor College of Medicine in the Texas Medical Center. He then completed residency training, specializing in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, and now treats the full gamut of Ear, Nose, and Throat disorders.
Dr. Hershey loves providing patient-centered care and takes time to hear and connect with his patients. He takes interest in all aspects of ENT, from sinus disease and allergy, thyroid disorders, salivary gland disease, ear disorders, to voice and swallowing, sleep disorders, and pediatric ENT. Dr. Hershey speaks Portuguese, Japanese, and Spanish. He enjoys traveling, faith and church, music, sports, and the outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.
